Silver Key Awards Reception, November 10, 2016

The Charitable Irish Society held its Eighteenth Silver Key Awards Reception on Thursday, November 10, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston.  This year's Silver Key Honorees were Gerard and Marilyn Doherty, Billy Higgins and Sister Maryadele Robinson.

The Silver Key Award is given to those individuals whose dedication and persistence in helping new immigrants have been truly outstanding.  This year's honorees, most generous philanthropists and political and elected officials, Gerard and Marilyn Doherty, Billy Higgins, South Boston native, resident, founder of the Southill Children's Fund and quiet contributor to countless individuals and causes, and Sister Maryadele Robinson, Director Emerita of the Labourne Center, have each made significant contributions to helping others.  The Charitable Irish Society is pleased to honor them with its prestigious Silver Key Award.

The Charitable Irish Society's Silver Key Award Reception is our primary annual fundraising event.  Funds raised are distributed to or on behalf of individual immigrants and to institutions that provide services to immigrants in need.
